Information you enter

Mimir lets you record mental health and wellness information so you can track it over time and discuss it with your care team. This may include:

• Daily check-ins, such as mood, distress, energy, hours of sleep, symptoms and their severity, substance use, and free-text notes
• Medications you add, such as name, dosage, who prescribed it, frequency, reminder times, and dose changes over time, along with how you log them, whether taken, effectiveness, and side effects
• A personal safety plan, such as warning signs, coping strategies, people and places that help, reasons to stay safe, and support contacts
• Care tasks and coping-tool activity you choose to track
• Notes and questions for your doctor
• Optional profile details, such as your name and age, used only to label the Doctor Report
• Custom symptoms, substances, or side effects you choose to add

How your information is stored

All of the information above is stored locally on your device only, using your device’s private app storage. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. Mimir does not use accounts, cloud storage, or external servers. We have no ability to see, access, or recover your data.

Security on your device

Because this information is sensitive, Mimir includes optional on-device protections. You can set an app lock with a PIN, stored only as a secure, one-way hash, or your device biometrics, and the app blocks screenshots and hides its contents in the app switcher. Any backup you create can be protected with a passphrase that only you know. These protections run entirely on your device.

How your information is used

Your information is used solely on your device to provide the app’s features: showing your check-ins, calendar, trends and patterns, sending the reminders you set up, and generating the Doctor Report. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

Sharing your information

We do not share your information because we never receive it. Information leaves your device only if you choose to:

• Generate and share a Doctor Report. The report is created on your device and shared only to the app or person you select, for example, email or a messaging app.
• Export a backup file. You can save a copy of your data to a location you choose. That copy is under your control.

Device permissions

Some optional features may ask your permission to use parts of your device, always with your consent and only to provide that feature: contacts, to add a support person to your safety plan, camera or photos, to attach or scan a paper safety plan, and notifications, for reminders. Anything accessed this way is used on your device only and is not sent to us.

In-app purchases

The Doctor Report can be purchased as an in-app product. Payments are processed by Google Play, not by us. We do not receive or store your payment details. Your health data is not sent to the app store as part of a purchase; the report itself is generated on your device.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, Mimir schedules local notifications on your device. These reminders are generated and delivered entirely on your device and are not sent through any server.

Third-party services

Mimir does not include advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking. The only third-party service involved is Google Play’s billing system, used only if you choose to make a purchase.

Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual entries or clear all of your data at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device. Because we never hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Your rights

Since your data stays on your device and under your control, you can view, edit, export, and delete it at any time directly in the app.

Children’s privacy

Mimir is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Mimir is a personal mental health tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. It does not provide medical advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service and cannot contact help for you. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your health.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
